As a Data & Platform Engineering at Etihad Airways you will perform activities including the development and management of scalable data platforms that enable efficient data processing, storage, and retrieval for large-scale systems. It combines principles from data engineering and platform engineering to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and available to various business applications or analytics processes
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business needs and objectives
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition
- Analyze and organize raw data
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, Interpret trends and patterns / Build algorithms and prototypes
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
- 5-8 years of experience in IT Industry
- 3+ years of experience with Azure Data Engineering Stack (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Event Hub, Cosmos DB, ADLS Gen2, Function app). Good understanding of other Azure services
- 3+ years of experience with Python / Pyspark
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and good understanding of Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Modelling and design concepts
- Experience in Power BI, SFTP, Messaging, APIs would be an advantage
- Excellent analytical and organization skills.
- Effective working in a team as well as working independently.
- Experience of working in Agile delivery
- Knowledge of software development best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- DP200/DP201 certification is added advantage
