Information Technology Administrator

JOB TITLE: IT Administrator - Tanzania

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time

LOCATION: Afriport Ltd, 31, 32, 35 Benjamin Mkapa Special Economic Zone, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

JOB SUMMARY:

As IT Administrator, your responsibilities will include overseeing data center operations, managing Windows and Ubuntu server environments, integrating ERP systems, administering mobile systems, handling Office 365 suite management, ensuring IT security, and leading IT projects. You’ll also manage vendor relationships, oversee budgets, provide end-user support, and optimize asset utilization. Additionally, you’ll enhance communication and security infrastructure while recommending tailored IT solutions and facilitating staff training

OVERVIEW OF DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Oversee on-premises data center operations, including server installations, maintenance, and monitoring. 
  • Manage infrastructure components such as power, cooling systems, and environmental monitoring.
  • ERP System Integration - Ensure availability, scalability, and seamless integration of on-premises hosted ERP systems with other business systems.
  • Mobile System Administration - Administer production and quality tracking system software and Hardware
  • Handle Office 365 suite administration, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. Oversee user accounts, licenses, and security settings.
  • Manage Active Directory services, including Group Policy, LDAP integration, and Azure Active Directory synchronization.
  • Virtualization (Hyper-V): Administer Hyper-V, configuring virtual environments and implementing failover clusters for high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Implement IT security principles, access control, encryption, and vulnerability management to protect organizational data and systems.
  • Ensure robust data storage and backup solutions comply with regulatory requirements and safeguard organizational assets.
  • Design, configure, and troubleshoot network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs). Monitor performance and implement security measures.
  • Lead IT projects, aligning with business goals and integrating solutions across multiple locations. Optimize vendor relationships and contracts for service delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage IT budgets, oversee expenditures, and support strategic initiatives.
  • Provide responsive IT support to end users, resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensure software licensing compliance and effective software asset management.
  • Facilitate IT training programs to enhance staff technical skills and resource efficiency.
Qualification and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with a focus on implementing and managing Information Systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate Technical Information
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in a similar role within a Manufacturing environment.
