The Senior Specialist, Sustainability (Programme & Performance) will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of ADNOC's sustainability strategy. This position focuses on managing sustainability programs and performance metrics, ensuring the effective tracking, reporting, and improvement of sustainability initiatives across the organization. The Senior Specialist will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with ADNOC's sustainability goals and objectives

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage sustainability programs that align with ADNOC’s overall sustainability strategy and goals.
  • Coordinate with various departments and business units to implement sustainability initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into operational processes.
  • Establish and maintain a system for tracking sustainability performance metrics across the organization.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on key sustainability indicators to measure progress against targets.
  • Prepare regular sustainability performance reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Identify opportunities for improving sustainability performance and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practices in sustainability across the organization.
  • Monitor emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability to ensure ADNOC remains at the forefront of the industry.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including senior management, to communicate sustainability performance and program updates.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as industry groups, regulatory bodies, and community organizations, to advance ADNOC's sustainability agenda.
  • Assess sustainability-related risks and opportunities, contributing to the development of strategies to address them.
  • Ensure that sustainability risks are integrated into the company’s overall risk management framework.
  • Assist in preparing materials for external presentations and engagements on sustainability topics.
  • Support the VP of Sustainability in representing ADNOC at industry events, conferences, and other public forums.
  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective business objectives.
  • Provide input for preparation of the Department budgets, assist in the implementation of the approved Budget, and work plans to deliver business objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & ProceduresImplement approved Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International standards.
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
  • tDesign and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
  • Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and SustainabilityComply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
  • Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
  • Frequent contacts with various units within Sustainability & ESG division and other stakeholders in ADNOC and with assigned ADNOC Group Companies.
  • Regular contacts with entities for Sustainability related projects, Abu Dhabi environmental agency etc.
  • Regular contacts with project management companies, project consultants, contractors, engineering consultancy firms and outsourcing service providers.
Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification in sustainability or a related discipline is preferred.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience in in sustainability, environmental management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Excellent project management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of sustainability reporting standards and frameworks.
  • Proficiency in using sustainability performance management tools and software.
